The delay in inspection and cargo release procedures at the dry port of Terra das Cataratas was aggravated, in recent days, by the standard operation promoted by federal agricultural tax auditors, who demand improvements in salaries and working conditions from the federal government.
The entity “expresses its concern with the events of recent weeks at the Ponte da Amizade border crossing, as the strike by Brazilian officials is making the normal development of activities very difficult, both with regard to exports and imports from our country.” country".
“Due to this situation, it is possible to observe, around the bridge, thousands of trucks that are stopped for several days waiting to cross the borders, with the great impact that this implies in terms of additional costs and loss of competitiveness in foreign trade , in addition to non-compliance with customers and inefficiency for transport companies”, adds the statement.
“The Friendship Bridge is the main connection route for these operations, which is why we believe it is vitally important to find solutions to this problem as quickly as possible”, consider the directors of Cappro.
“We urge the authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions linked to trade that have a relationship with Brazil, to exhaust the opportunities for conversation with the authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock so that it is possible to return to a normal flow of operations, without compromising the link built with a significant market for our country’s agro-industrial products”, asks the institution.
